Avocados! An article I just read on Superfoods says these fabulous cancer-fighting fruits also contain "good" fat and phytochemicals that help "carry away cholesterol."

Bear Grylls of "Man vs. Wild" fame on Discovery Channel climbed an avocado tree in the middle of the rain forest when they dropped him from a plane with nothing but a water bottle and a knife. He cut off a few avocados and ate them right there, still clinging to the trunk of that tree. He said if he were stranded on a desert island, the food he'd most want to have with him was avocados (and mayonaise and chocolate, but anyway).

Avocados are great!  The fresh ones are amazing!  We have lots of Avos growing around Kauai and enjoy them regularly.

Kale is another great super food.  Its a dark, leafy green high in vitamins C, K  and A and it  full of fiber.  Our friends own a vegan restaurant and we have starting filming healthy cooking videos with them to share their healthy cooking recipes on the web.

One of the recipes is called Crispy Kale.  It's a simple recipe that turns kale into a crunchy snack that kids (and adults) love.  We tried it on our non-green eating child and he LOVED it.   We were amazed!!! and excited because it is so easy to make.

Bok choy! It's my favorite newly discovered vegetable – high in vitamins A and C, and antioxidants. Flavorful and crispy when lightly stir-fried. Our local grocery stores don't carry it all year, so we get big bags of it when we shop at the Asian market.

Doesn't Jamba Juice use wheatgrass in its smoothies? I swear they do...

We use blueberries daily in a smoothie and kefir yogurt drinks or activia for yogurt. Some regular yogurt has lots of sugar.

We eat lots of almonds too.

Mangosteen fruit, which can be taken easily in any number of juices that are available now (such as Xango).  Really high in antioxidants and zanthones.  Helps in reducing inflammations of all sorts, especially arthritis pain, increases natural energy, is a natural appetite suppressant.  Good stuff!

i bought a pound of organic broccoli seeds and as a single person, it's lasting me forever. I only have to sprout 1 tablespoon at a time and have plenty for several sandiwches or salads.

Black Sesame Tahini.  I recommend it to many of my clients.  Its a complete Calcium and Iron "supplement" and the best food based Blood tonic.  From a TCM perspective it nourishes the Kidney and Liver Yin and Blood.  Great remedy for amennorhea.

Fresh wheat grass juice is loaded with chlorophyll which is very effective in treating heart and vascular diseases. Chlorophyll also removes harmful free radicals from the body, and prevents carcinogens from accumulating in the body. Chlorophyll also contains a large amount of magnesium which is an essential component t of enzymes and fertility hormones.

Blueberries, Kale, red beets, almonds, coconut in all forms, olives and olive oil. I love blueberry smoothies-I add quinoa, ground almonds, green tea, wheat germ, cinnamon, ginger and any frozen fruits. Thicker becomes an ice cream substitute.
