Is Spirituality the New Trend In Yoga?

My yoga practice has always been about connecting with the divine energy of the universe aka myself. I have never felt like this ran with or against any other religious beliefs. It is to my dismay that so many yoga classes avoid chanting or Sanskrit for fear of alienating students. It is this rich tradition that makes yoga more than physical exercise.

i have been doing yoga off and on for a few years now....  and my favorite studio does have a spiritual side to it (it is an Anusara Yoga Studio that now also does the yoga of bliss......which is based on the Yoga Sutras)  i highly reccommend this studio "Lake Center Yoga" to anyone in the Orlando Florida area.. it is in Longwood....

but the YMCA of course stayed away from the spiritual aspects

and my second favorite studio does not really get into the spiritual side of things either.. i mean they have OM symbols and say Namaste...but that is about it..... it is definitely more focused on the physical workout.... the main instructor and owner, Tymi, has studied with many great yogis of our time...... and i believe she is a very spiritual person but chooses not to share that with the class....  but i have only been to her mostly senior classes..... senior citizens, i mean.....

i am 39....
